The Cenotaph

This bronze war memorial, located atop a granite cenotaph, was unveiled by Lieutenant Governor W.C. Nichol in 1925 and commemorates the Canadians who lost their lives in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Afghanistan Mission.

The Cenotaph was largely funded by public donations to the Victoria war memorial fund. The bronze statue of a was created by Vernon and Sydney March of Farnborough, Kent, who later created the National War Memorial in Ottawa.
