For a portion of their 2009 Canadian royal tour, Charles, Prince of Wales - now King Charles III - and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were officially welcomed to British Columbia on the front steps of the Parliament Buildings by Premier Gordon Campbell and thousands of British Columbians.
Their royal tour took the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall throughout B.C., as they met with Lieutenant Governor Steven Point and visited the Paralympic and Olympic Villages in Vancouver. It was the first time that the royal couple had visited B.C. together.
