2002 - Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip Tour B.C.

In 2002, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 50th year as reigning monarch, an event formally known as the Golden Jubilee. To celebrate, the Queen and Prince Philip spent 12 days touring Canada and thanking Canadians for their "loyalty, encouragement and support" throughout her reign.

As part of the royal tour, the Queen visited the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia and, alongside Premier Gordon Campbell, participated in the official unveiling of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Window. The Golden Jubilee Window is a stained glass window within the Hall of Honour and was designed and fabricated by Thomas Mercer and Edward Schaefer of Victoria to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
