The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Window

The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Window was a gift from the Province of British Columbia to Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate the 50th year of her reign in 2002.

It was crafted by two Victoria-based artisans, Edward Schaefer and Thomas Mercer. In the topmost portion is Her Majesty's Canadian Royal Standard. This was the Queen's personal Canadian flag and was flown only when she was in Canada. In the centre of the window is British Columbia's Coat of Arms, and just below it are the letters "ER", which is the Latin abbreviation for Elizabeth Regina, or Queen Elizabeth. The numerals between the letters make the abbreviation mean Queen Elizabeth II.

The Golden Jubilee Window also depicts various B.C. symbols, including the provincial bird (the Steller's Jay), the provincial fish (the Pacific salmon), and the provincial gemstone (jade).
