Family Day
Come and spend a fun-filled Family Day at the Parliament Buildings on Monday, February 16.
The Parliament Buildings will be open for family-friendly activities between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
It is free to attend and no registration is required.

Treasures from the Library Vault
A free, hour-long learning program that provides a close look at fragile, unique, and valuable items stored in the Legislative Library vault.
Registration and Arrival Information:
You can join this program in-person onsite at the Legislative Assembly, or over Zoom.
If you are attending in-person: Visitors should arrive ten minutes early to pass through security screening. If you can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so other groups may be booked.
If you are attending online: Online sessions are offered through Zoom. Once you have filled out the reservation form, you will be emailed an invitation to the session.

February 13, 2:00 pm: The Philosophy of Politics and Power
Grapple with political thinkers from Machiavelli to Hobbes and uncover how their ideas shaped the province and the world.

Tea and Tour
This program is fully booked for the spring. If you would like to be added to a waitlist, or would like to be informed when our summer dates are released, please contact tours@leg.bc.ca.
This program includes a light breakfast in the Parliamentary Dining Room followed by a guided walking tour with a costumed member of the Parliamentary Players Program.
Visitors can expect to explore the history and significance of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia and engage directly with an historical character from British Columbia’s past.
Cost: The cost of the breakfast is $17.00 per person, which includes sales tax and gratuity.
Time: Each session runs from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Arrival Information: Visitors should arrive ten minutes early at the accessible entrance to the side of the front steps. Please be prepared to pass through security screening. The Parliament Buildings are wheelchair and walker accessible. For more information on accessibility, please click here.

Halloween
Trick or Treating at the Parliament Buildings
Each year, on Halloween, children and families are invited to Trick or Treat at the B.C. Parliament Buildings.
Please join us to enjoy some spooky treats and participate in festive activities! There is no need to register for Trick or Treating—simply come to the Parliament Buildings in your Hallowe’en costume and have fun!
The Haunted Life of Francis Rattenbury
In October, learn the chilling tale of The Haunted Life of Francis Rattenbury in a free, hour-long theatrical tour.
Times for 2026 will be announced in the fall.
Light Up at the Parliament Buildings
Annual Event - See you in 2026!
3:30 - 6:30 pm
Join us for an afternoon of music inside the Parliament Buildings before moving outside to light up the Parliament Buildings.
This event is free to attend and no advance registration or tickets are required. Everyone is welcome!
3:30 - 5:30 pm: Join us inside to see the Christmas Tree, for family-friendly activities, and performances by local choirs and bands.
6:00 - 6:30 pm: Join us outside on the front driveway for choral performances by local school choirs and to see the lighting of the Parliament Buildings.
Celebrate the Season
Join us throughout the month of December for free musical performances in the Upper Rotunda of the Parliament Buildings. No registration required. All are welcome!
