School Travel Program

The Legislative Assembly is pleased to offer a new travel grant program for B.C. school groups in grades 4 - 12 from outside of the Greater Victoria area.

This program is open to B.C. public schools, independent schools (with a group 1 or 2 classification), schools from the Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique, and schools operated by a First Nation.

Application Deadline

The deadline for the 2025/2026 school year has now passed.

Please check again in mid-August for information on how to apply for the 2026/2027 school year.

Funding and Eligibility

The amount of funding per person is based on school district boundaries (funding amounts for the 2026/2027 school year will be listed here in August).

Funding is provided for a maximum of 40 people. Larger groups need to submit more than one tour booking request and grant application.

Funding is provided for up to two accompanying adults, regardless of how many adults are travelling with the group.

Independent, First Nation, and SD93 schools are assigned to the region where their school is located.

Online learning schools may be asked to provide information to show where the students in the group are travelling from.

Application Process

School groups must complete both the guided tour and a Virtual Classroom session in order to be eligible to receive the grant.

Step 1. Book a guided tour of the Parliament Buildings.

  • The grant application is included as part of the online tour booking form.
  • School groups travelling with more than 40 people will need to submit more than one request.

Step 2. Book a Virtual Classroom session for a date prior to your visit.

  • Select 'Virtual Classroom for the School Travel Program' as the focus of the session.

Step 3. Wait for notification that your grant has been approved.

Grant Payment

The grant will be issued once both program requirements have been completed (the guided tour and the Virtual Classroom session).

Payment is issued directly to the school and cannot be issued to individuals.
